Sweet Coffee Live light

Stagnation means decline. Sweet Coffee couldn't agree more that change is of paramount importance. After releasing the highly acclaimed albums "Memory Lane", "Perfect Storm" and "Naked City", Sweet Coffee is ready to start a new chapter. As a result, the fourth album will include collaborations with several guest vocalists, each adding their own unique flavor to the mix. The brand-new album, set to be released in the second half of 2009, will therefore offer even more variety than the previous ones. This evolution provides Sweet Coffee with the opportunity to rise to a higher level, making it even more difficult to label the band. In fact, Sweet Coffee combines so many different kinds of music, the potential is limitless. Who else could unite lovers of house, pop, soul and jazz? Who else dares to translate all these different genres into fantastic live shows, both at festivals and theatres alike? Who else defies the laws of the music industry by managing all of this singlehandedly, and yet succeeds in crossing borders to the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and even Russia? The days of having to explain who Sweet Coffee is, have long gone. Songs like "Don't need you", "New Day", "Lost in tears" and "What's up with that" have all had major radio airplay, entered tens of thousands of living rooms and appeared on countless compilations, both in this country and abroad. At concerts, Sweet Coffee reinvented itself repeatedly by choosing to perform with live musicians, perhaps not exactly the obvious choice considering the genre. But by doing so, Sweet Coffee appealed to even more people, thus winning new fans. Years of experience at performing live gave the band a better insight into song structure, together with a heightened awareness of the importance of variation. It also offered authentic, organic instruments like sax, percussion, piano and different vocals an even bigger part in the world of Sweet Coffee. And now there are greater expectations than ever before. The Flemish band, who quickly established a large and faithful following, refuses to get stuck in a rut. Comparing the sound of the debut album of 2004 to the current sound, there are big differences showing already. Five years on, Sweet Coffee has experienced lots of new things, but continues to hold on to the same mission statement: "The Sweet Coffee sound is allowed to be recognizable but should never cease to amaze." In march of 2009 the first single was released as a preview to the brand-new Sweet Coffee album! The release of this album is planned on February 25 - 2010 - Ancienne Belgique !
