Shindu
18:15 - 19:15 Vintage Mountain
Out of the dark and into the blue, two boys and a girl from Belgium collide to create Shindu. A refreshing synthpopsensation that embodies the challenge to take music into the dawn of a new era. Shindu dreams up stories to create jaunty yet clever tracks drenched in late 80s electronica and atmospherics.
As every tale has its beginning, so does the band. Christopher and Maxime started out as dj’s with a repertory mainly consisting of miscellaneous electro and pop digressions. Minds tend to change and so did their ambition to aim for a higher level of music perception. Along the journey roaming different venues, clubs, studios, radio shows and meeting industry big shots over the years, the time felt right to pursue a greater goal. Namely reinventing themselves into a credible live act alternating with exclusive dj-sets.
But it’s really when confetti shoots across the room and mist starts clamping down, all eyes are on the leading lady, Chibi, delivering Shindu’s strong and exhilarating vocals on a carpet of colors.
When magic is seized in amazing places and iconic statues are shaped by great sculptors, then so is Shindu’s authentic sound. It all happens in Sebastiaan Vandevoorde – aka Moonlight Matters’s vintage synth stacked studio, where production’s done and songwriting originates commonly with the other members.
Shindu equals a celebration with friends or a drive along sunny roads, shorelessly being yourself in a continuous loop… Their first single “Happy House” will be released on Kitsuné by the end of June 2011.
